Group Buyer

Flavour Warehouse Ltd is a dynamic, multi award winning manufacturer, wholesale distributor and retailer of high quaility e-liquid and e-cigarette products, conveniently located close to junction 4 of the M65.

The role of Group Buyer is a critical role and will be expected to appoint expertise and qualified experience to centralise all facets of buying and procurement across the Flavour Warehouse group. Through targeted objectives around quality, cost and delivery, this role and function drives an industry standard approach to value engineer the supply chain and ensure optimum availability of components and finished goods to support forecasted growth.

Core
Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the group purchasing strategy and associated
    budget, with clear targets to effectively procure raw materials and components across
    all fulfilment channels
  • Maintain a clear focus on industry trends, market shifts and innovation within core product categories, working with OEM’s to secure inventory and principal opportunities for early distribution of new lines
  • Manage approved vendors to deliver optimum performance throughout the supply chain life cycle. Assertively review existing agreements, re-negotiating terms and pricing to achieve maximum GP and compliance against agreed SLA’s
  • Through the application of effective demand planning and
    forecasting methodology, ensure continuing availability of components and raw
    materials to support ongoing production activity
  • Take responsibility for all forward purchasing,
    incorporating requirements from multiple departments to service forecasted
    demand
  • Manage inventory within OrderWise and facilitate the regular update, creation and archiving of variants, BOM’s and associated components, to maintain the accurate representation of live products
  • Control the periodic review of existing product pricing, in
    addition to the integration of new lines across all linked sales channels (web,
    BOS, wholesale)
  • Deliver effective change management of components across NPD,
    regulatory compliance, design and general brand development
  • Manage all aspects of import and export logistics,
    negotiating optimum rates/ lead times and mitigating risk through 100% compliance
    to cross border shipping rules (ie commodity codes, duty and additional customs
    requirements)
  • Control the inbound delivery of product and manage a detailed shipping schedule to track open PO’s. Support Goods In and appoint landed costs for imported goods
  • Work closely with the
    compliance team and ensure all purchased product meets applicable legislation,
    regulatory and internal requirements
  • Responsible for the
    effective management of returned product, from verification of stated failure
    through to internal processing and supplier credit or replacement

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3+ years direct
    experience of purchasing and buying both finished goods and attributed components
  • Experience
    of working with range driven and high SKU product lines
  • End to end supply chain knowledge, from agreeing terms, through to negotiating pricing and SLA’s for delivery
  • Exceptional
    communication ability when working with cross-functional key stakeholders and managing
    supplier relationships
  • Time served
    experience of best practice demand planning and forecasting techniques
  • Practical
    working understanding of cross border import and export logistics
  • Familiar
    with ERP systems, specifically inventory management and control
  • CIPS
    qualified
  • Fully proficient with all Microsoft programs, particularly Microsoft Excel
